First Vision Centre of DECF Inaugurated

Deep Eye Care Foundation (DECF) opened its first vision centre at Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat on Thursday, October 14, 2021. The day was the World Sight Day of this year. The main objective of vision centre is to provide primary eye care through tele-consultation to the disadvantaged people living in remote areas. Md. Mashiur Rahman Mamun, Upazila Chairman, Hatibandha was present as the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony. Dr. Md. Abdur Rab, Consultant, DECF, Dr. Sumayea Akhtar Mukta, Senior Medical Officer, DECF, Mahmudul Islam Duke, Program Manager, DECF, AKM Mahbubur Rahman (Prince), Head of HR & Hospitality Services, DECF were also present on this occasion. A free eye camp was also held at the vision centre premises. More than 300 patients were screened at the camp and 48 patients were selected for cataract and pterygium surgery at base hospital, supported by DAK foundation.
