Quarter: 1st– 4th (Jan – Dec, 2018) in 2012.

Outreach Program: During last one year January, 2018 – December, 2018 DECF organized total 52 School Sight Testing Programs in different schools within Rangpur District for screening children. Total 39913 students were screened in SSTP. In the screening camps, we identified refractive errors and prescribed medicine. We delivered 767 free spectacles among the refractive poor patients. We provided few drugs to the poor patients under this project. We referred 78 students with operational and critical cases to the Base Hospital. In this quarter several pediatric cataract surgeries also done through SSTP.

Pediatric Outdoor Service: Total 18707 patients visited pediatric outdoor of DECF from January, 2018 – December, 2018, for receiving treatment. This number showed increasing trend. Trained teachers, health workers and little doctors are played a very important roll to increase pediatric patients in outdoor of DECF.

Eye Surgery Performance: Total 367 Pediatric surgeries were done from January, 2018 – December, 2018. Out of them 217 (59%) were male and 150 (41%) were female patients. Among them cataract surgeries were 110 (30%) and 12 (3.2%) squint surgeries were done. During this quarter only 17 (5%) patients were operated free of cost, 158 (43%) patients at subsidized cost and 192 (52%) patients with their own cost. Operated patients ware very satisfied to have their good vision after surgery. It is very significant that paid surgeries are increased day by day. This quarter male surgery patients were almost double than female. Cataract surgeries were also done more than previous quarter.
