A vision center is a small, permanent facility set up to provide primary eye care services to semi-rural and rural communities. Vision Technician operates the center and Ophthalmologists offer consultation to the patients through telemedicine technology. The purpose of vision center is to provide comprehensive primary eye care and increase the uptake of eye care services among rural populations. It also plays important role to raise awareness and educate the target community about eye health and establish a referral network with the base hospital for surgery & complicated cases.
