Actually a proper maintenance and taking care of these equipments and instruments help provide both cost effective and efficient eye care services to the people by expanding their life span and making them work smoothly and accurately. Naturally eye care service providers should be extra careful of the safe uses and proper maintenance of the equipments and the instruments to attain sustainable growth and reduce service cost. Taking all these into account, DECF has integrated Biomedical Engineering Dept. into the organization and had several of its personnel properly trained from Aravind Eye Care System, India to run the new Dept. smoothly and skillfully. We are thinking of appointing a bio-medical engineer and having more personnel trained to heighten the working stature of the department. This will surely pave the way to be a sustainable tertiary Eye hospital in near future.
